Virtually Terra Madre

Join other members of Slow Food Scotland's Virtual Group (that's Slow Food members in Scotland not assigned to the Edinburgh, Glasgow or Aberdeen convivia) in an online gathering where we aim to capture some of the ideas, inspirations and flavours of Terra Madre, Slow Food International's biennial global gathering of food communities.

The actual Terra Madre event took place in September . . . in Italy

There was a chance to gather with some Scottish representatives at Terra Madre recently . . . in Edinburgh

But quite possibly you struggled to get to Italy, or Edinburgh. If so, just stay right where you are and click online to join this Slow Food Scotland gathering on Zoom on Tuesday 10 December from 7.30pm to 8.30pm. As it happens, 10 December is international Terra Madre Day.

What's planned?

  • A reminder of what Terra Madre is all about: the concept, the event, the meaning
  • Choice memories and inspirations from those who have been to the event
  • A discussion about 'food communities' – and a chance for you to contribute updates and perspectives from around Scotland
  • An ideas forum for other possible virtual events.

One structural issue with Zoom gatherings is that we can't share food or drink with you. So you'll have to bring your own – but if you wish you can share a quick introduction to it with us online.

All welcome – all Slow Food Scotland members and friends (including those in the Edinburgh, Glasgow or Aberdeen convivia)

Hosted by Donald Reid, SFS chair.

At The Potato House, Andrew & Amy Skea have the most extensive and highly regarded range of potatoes in UK, including 10 Ark of Taste potatoes.

It is hoped participants will car share on this lovely trip to rural Angus. Bring suitable footwear as it may be muddy underfoot.
