As a grassroots, volunteer organisation, our success depends on the commitment and energy of our members and partners. Your membership money or support as a business ensures that we can continue to campaign and act effectively in Scotland.
When you join Slow Food Scotland, you will be automatically allocated to your nearest convivium. If there is no convivium nearby, we have a Virtual Scotland group that will keep you informed and involved.
Five local groups in Scotland.
There are Slow Food Scotland groups in Edinburgh, Glasgow, West of Scotland, Tayside and North Fife, and Aberdeen City and Shire.
Joining Slow Food Scotland is easy and starts from just £3 a month, with family and unwaged membership available too. To join just click on this link. Remember, two-thirds of your membership money stays in Scotland to support national and local actions, with the rest supporting Slow Food International’s global work.
As Slow Food Scotland member, you will receive a regular newsletter, as well as reduced rates on events where a fee is charged.
You can also donate to Slow Food to support our campaigns and programmes.
Got some time to spare?
If you would like to volunteer with us or any of our groups, please get in touch here and we can explain the opportunities. We are always looking to expand the network in Scotland, so if you would like to start a local conivia, please get in touch too.
Businesses can support us too.
We believe in recognising small businesses who strive towards good, clean and fair values, are supportive of their local communities, respectful of the environment and the people they work with, and want to advertise their belief in the Slow Food philosophy. Our supporters scheme is designed to do this, and includes two memberships with every sign-up. Local Slow Food groups are always interested in working together with local ‘Slow’ businesses.
