We’re all looking forward to our AGM on the 11th December, the first all-members meeting since we launched Slow Food Scotland in Edinburgh in November 2015.
It’s no coincidence that we’re meeting just one day after Terra Madre Day, the date on which the whole global Slow Food network celebrates the wonderful local foods and food producers that are at the heart of our movement.
For us, it’s a chance to celebrate the contributions of all those who make up Slow Food in Scotland, so we’ve invited all of our five convivia to join us with to celebrate their achievements, as well as the Youth network, and delegates from Terra Madre.
There’ll be a chance to hear about the tremendous progress on the Ark of Taste, and the Chef Alliance too.
And there’ll be a look ahead as we plan for 2017, and beyond.
We will be meeting on Sunday 11th December at the Parklands Hotel, 2 St Leonards Bank, Perth PH2 8EB. It will start at 12:30 with a lunch, followed by a full agenda.
A special £15 two-course lunch menu has been prepared by Chef Alliance member Graeme Pallister, and here it is:
Potato soup, Arran mustard Chantilly & corned partridge
Griersons organic farmed beef shin, scotch beef tongue, Anster cheddar and neep gratin, horseradish dumpling (There will be a vegetarian option for those who specify on booking.)
We have deliberately chosen Perth for its accessibility to the maximum number of members across Scotland. The Perth train station is just 2 minutes walk from the venue. Please, book directly with the hotel on 01738 622451.
And finally, here’s a reminder of a great Terra Madre night in Turin when Slow Food took over the city.
Enjoy! And see you in Perth.
